
NOTICE OF RACE

Catalina 22 Fleet 54, Fleet 4 and the Gold Country Yacht Club (GCYC) are pleased to invite you to compete in the 2012 Catalina 22 National Championship Regatta held on Scotts Flat Lake in Nevada City, Ca.
The Go for the Gold Club Regatta will be held on June 9th and 10th. This regatta is open to all classes of sailboats. The Catalina 22 Fleet is invited to register for the club regatta and participate in the races as a warm up for the National regatta.
RULES: The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing 2009-2012.
ADVERTISING: No advertising will be permitted other than that permitted or required per ISAF Regulation 20. The Catalina 22 National Association does not permit additional advertising as outlined in ISAF Regulations 20.3.1.2 and 20.5.7.
ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY: The regatta is open to all boats of the Catalina 22 Class. Skipper/Helmsman must be a Catalina 22 National Sailing Association member in good standing on or before the first day of racing. Eligible boats may enter by completing the entry form published in the Main Brace or the entry form available on the Catalina 22 National Website at www.catalina22.org or at the Gold Country Yacht Club website at www.gcyc.net . On-site entry forms will be accepted as shown on #5 in the NOTICE OF RACE.
FEES: Required fees are as follows: Class Fee
Genoa Gold Fleet $125.00
Genoa Silver Fleet $125.00
Spinnaker Fleet $145.00*
US Sailing members will receive a 10% differential discount to the fees stated above.
*Includes entry in Gold or Silver Fleet.
Boats intending to participate in the Go For the Gold Club Regatta will be required to submit and entry registration and fees for that event. All boats are encouraged to arrive as early as possible prior to the Go for the Gold regatta in order to participate in the races.

1830 - 2100 Skippers Mtg./Welcome Dinner
Each racing day the warning signal is at 1100 hrs.

MEASUREMENTS: Each boat shall produce a valid Catalina 22 One-Design Class Measurement certificate before close of registration. The Catalina 22 National Sailing Association Chief Measurer or his designee shall measure all sails on-site, prior to first day of racing. Two Cycle motors are allowed on Scots Flat Lake. Boat Insurance is the responsibility of the owner of the boat and as provided for by US Sailing. Proof of insurance is not required.
SAILING INSTRUCTIONS: The sailing instructions will be available after 01-02-12 on the Catalina 22 National Sailing Associations website at http://www.catalina22.org, the Gold Country Yacht Club website at http://www.gcyc.net or by mail upon receipt of racing fees after 01-02-12.
THE COURSES: The races shall be held on Scots Flat Lake, California. The courses to be sailed will be as follows: Windward/Leeward with an offset mark and Leeward gate .
PENALTY SYSTEM: Rule 44.1 shall apply.
SCORING: A minimum of four (4) races shall be completed for the Catalina 22 National Sailing Association Championship title. A boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores. There will be no "throw-outs". The Low Point Scoring System of Appendix A4.1 will apply.
BERTHING: Boats shall be kept in their assigned places. Dry Storage and daily launching/retrieval may be required. A boat may be kept on a mooring ball or at anchor.
PRIZES: A minimum of five (5) boats per fleet will constitute the awarding of trophies. The National Champion shall be the winner of the Gold Fleet. The Betty Gay Clements perpetual trophy will be awarded to the highest placing woman skipper in accordance with its deed. The Dick King Memorial trophy for the highest placing Sport will also be presented.
